Call for participants to tzNOG5 Training in Dodoma (3rd - 8th September 2017)

tzNOG is a multi-stakeholder project that aims at providing affordable capacity building platform to ICT Professionals in Tanzania. Its organizing committee comprises of members from Tanzania Network Information Centre (tzNIC), Tanzania Communications Regulatory Authority (TCRA), Tanzania Internet Service Providers Association (TISPA) and Tanzania Educational and Research Network (TERNET).

After 4 successful trainings in Arusha (tzNOG1-2013), Mwanza (tzNOG2-2014), Zanzibar (tzNOG3-2015) and Dar es Salaam (tzNOG4-2016), the 5th edition of tzNOG training is scheduled to take place in Dodoma from 3rd  to 8th  September 2017 at St. Gaspar Hotel.

The tzNOG5 training will have  2 parallel tracks/sessions, all covering IPv6 basics and configuration concepts:

1. Scalable Internet Services (SIS) – This track focuses on the design and operation of email, web and other Internet services, in ways that can scale to handle large numbers of end users ;
2. Systems Network Security (SNS) – This track focuses on security from the network perspective (ingress, egress filters, defeating denial of service attacks, network intrusion detection and network traffic) as well as from the server side (proper admin procedures, firewalls, secure services, etc).

      

Application requirements

Application is open to all Technical personnel with the following qualifications:

i) Linux/UNIX  OS experience;

ii) Knowledge of TCP/IP protocols and layer 2 & 3 network basics.

Participation fee:

TZS 300,000/= (if you pay before 25thAugust 2017); TZS 350,000/= (if you pay between 25thAugust - 02nd September 2017). Onsite registration is discouraged and will be charged TZS 400,000/=.
