Masauni lauds efforts by Meadows Academy
The Deputy Minister for Home affairs Hon Hamaad Masauni addressing participants at Uhuru Walk 5
Speaking at the just-ended Uhuru Walk 5, the Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Hon Hamaad Masauni, lauded the efforts pitched in by Upanga-based Meadows Academy in using the Uhuru Walk event to raise the spirit of community service while engaging in capacity building activities at Tumaini la Maisha (Muhimbili) as well as the House of Blue Hope.
"What particularly strikes me as a unique concept about Uhuru Walk is that it is an effort by a small kindergarten to mobilise community support and invest in human resource at the very beginning of life. We see several efforts around us in which organisations build structures and buildings, which are of course very necessary, but what we usually forget is that the most important building blocks of growth in any nation, are the people. And this is something, that you as all know, our Hon President H E Dr John Pombe Magufuli, regularly reminds us that we must not forget those around us who are less privileged, that we must remain fair to the idea of collective development."
He ended his speech as follows: I would like to end by quoting what the Almighty says in the Holy Qur’an "Hal jaza-ul Ihsan Illal Ihsan" Is there any reward for Good other than Good ? - Surah Ar-Rahmaan
Hon Masauni, flanked by Upanga West Ward Councillor Hon Adnan Kondo and Fire Rd Chairperson Bi Jokha, then proceeded to lead 800 odd walkers in the 6.3km walk, which brought several schools including Azania Secondary School
